General Health and Wellbeing
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the best care is preventative.
Treatment usually includes diet and lifestyle recommendations, herbal medicine and acupuncture.

Traditionally the village doctor was paid as long as people stayed well. When people became ill, the doctor did not get paid.

So the goal of Chinese Medicine is to address any presenting health issues and ultimately to help you stay well. The skill is in identifying small imbalances early, so they can be addressed before they become bigger problems creating serious illness.

How Does Acupuncture Work?

Modulating effects on pain and metabolism are achieved through acupuncture's ability to increase blood circulation and stimulate the release of neurotransmitters such as endorphins and other natural opioids .

Acupuncture has also been found to have positive effects on brain chemistry through the regulation of the hypothalamus and pituitary glands which are responsible for the smooth running of hormonal activity in the body.

The combination of all these factors can result in a broad spectrum of effects on various body systems relating to digestive function, temperature control breathing hormone release, sexual and cardiac function.
The benefits of acupuncture are widespread - many patients experience enhanced relaxation and increased energy. Acupuncture is an alternative treatment option that enhances immune function and the bodys natural ability to heal.

Acupuncture treats the underlying causes of illness and occompanying symptoms and has a holistic approach to healthcare by integrating and balancing the mind, body and emotions.

Preconception Care
I believe healthy people make healthy babies.  The healthier you are, the healthier your cells are – right down to the eggs and sperm that will form the building blocks of your baby’s very structure.

Preconception planning helps you to identify any health concerns or issues to enable the best start.

Here at Yin Studio, the focus is on assisting you during each stage of your cycle to maximise hormonal balance and cycle regulation, egg development and the healthy building of your endometrial lining. Regular acupuncture also helps to reduce the effects of stress.

We are 100% invested in the success of all of our patients and we are committed to getting results. We are completely invested in this process with you.

Growing evidence over the past five years shows that the health of both parents before and during pregnancy is strongly associated with healthy development and general health in adulthood.

It is not just women’s health that matters. Ample recent research indicates that sperm health is just as important and over 40% of infertility problems can be attributed to the male partner.

Preconception care for both parents can ensure healthy sperm and eggs, and a nurturing environment to enable the best possible outcome for conception and pregnancy. Both female and male fertility problems can also be treated with natural medicine approaches and specific nutritional supplementation.

Approximately 100 days (around 3 months) is the ideal time frame for preconception care. This is because sperm and eggs take around this long to develop or mature. It means that while they are developing/maturing they get the benefit of all the changes you are making to improve your overall health.

Preconception care is appropriate for prospective parents of all ages, stages of life, states of health and no matter where you are up to on your fertility journey.

Chinese Medicine to Support IVF Treatments
Creating a new life is a journey…..
All of the women who visit us are at different points in their own journeys and follow different paths, and we consider it our job to support them and see them through to the end.

For some, this journey might involve IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation). It’s not an easy decision to make, and the treatments can be physically and emotionally stressful. The IVF process can be uncomfortable and confronting, and cause whole waves of emotions. We understand the craziness in this process and offer you a sanctuary, away from all the madness.

IVF Acupuncture is an integrative program that works with you and your IVF doctor. When we work together with your body and your current IVF cycle, we can maximise your chances of achieving results.

Acupuncture has been scientifically proven to work by stimulating the flow of blood to the uterus, making the lining of your womb more receptive to the implantation of an embryo. It works with your body and your IVF cycles, and uses a research-based methodology that has been scientifically proven to increase your chances of pregnancy.

A 2008 review of several studies has shown that women who choose fertility acupuncture to support the IVF process are 65% more likely to develop a successful embryo.  Those successful embryos are 91% more likely to develop into beautiful, happy and healthy babies *

The IVF Acupuncture Process:

Prior to Starting Your IVF Cycle
Your body is a temple of life, which is why we recommend undergoing acupuncture before your IVF treatments begin to help prepare your body. This will help regulate your menstrual cycle, help with ovulation, improve follicle health, boost egg quality, improve your uterus lining and ensure your hormones are in tip-top shape.

During the Stimulation Phase
Uncomfortable IVF side effects are alleviated with acupuncture, helping to improve follicle development and reduce anxiety during this stressful period.

Acupuncture after Egg Collection
Remember what we said about your body being a temple? We recommend IVF patients have an acupuncture treatment after egg collection. This will help to reduce any local tissue trauma or bleeding, and help prepare a calm, serene and sustaining environment for the arrival of a new baby.

On the Day of Embryo Transfer
Research has shown having one session of acupuncture prior to embryo transfer as well as one following transfer greatly increases pregnancy rates.  These treatments are based on protocols used in Clinical Trials.

One Week After Embryo Transfer
After the fertilisted embryo has been transferred to your uterus, we recommend a round of acupuncture to help with a successful implantation. Acupuncture can also decrease the possibility of miscarriage, whilst at the same time help support the growth of new life!

If your pregnancy results are positive – (BIG HUGS!) – we would strongly advise undergoing acupuncture during your first trimester. This will help to strengthen and maintain vital progesterone levels needed to support your growing baby.
We’ve helped many couples bring more joy to their lives with our holistic services and compassionate care.

Pregnancy and Labour Care
This program is for women who want healthy, happy bodies throughout pregnancy, and healthy, happy babies afterwards. It’s also a wonderful progression for women who have already taken part in fertility treatments. You’ll appreciate the extended support and care right throughout the prenatal period, because we genuinely care about your health and vitality – and that of the new, marvellous life you’ve created.

The first 12 weeks
The first three months of your pregnancy are the most important developmental period for growing life. To give your little baby-to-be the love and care he or she needs to grow, you’ll receive weekly acupuncture treatments, especially if you have a history of miscarriages.

On top of that, our acupuncture treatments will help minimise the majority of the usual discomforts felt during your pregnancy such as morning sickness, emotional and physical exhaustion, constipation, heartburn, back pain and sciatica, anxiety and fear, insomnia, headaches, varicose veins etc.

Preparing for labour
In your third and final trimester we start to prepare you for the big day using our natural, holistic methodology to support you physically, spiritually and emotionally.
Acupuncture treatment applied in the 4 weeks before the due date for delivery has been shown to reduce medical induction and emergency caesarean rates. It also has been shown to encourage cervical ripening and shorten your labour time – you’ll thank us later.

Labour Induction
If you are overdue, acupuncture can gently help induce labour. Unlike the Syntocinon drip or prostaglandin gel induction – both unnatural ways to induce labour – acupuncture encourages the body to release hormones such as oxytocin and prostaglandins that instigate labour. They’ll also encourage your baby to journey down the birth canal.

Many mothers find this treatment very relaxing, and because they feel calmer, they have a more comfortable and smooth labour.  One or more treatments are usually required.

After-birth care
Most fertility clinics put a lot of emphasis on ‘should nots’ when trying to conceive and when you’re pregnant.  But your journey to blissful motherhood doesn’t end when you conceive – so neither does our 100% committed care and wisdom.
We’ll help you love, nurture and cherish yourself post-baby, so that you can heal, recuperate and embrace motherhood with energy, spirit and a new appreciation for what your wonderful body can achieve.

If you do experience any problems after childbirth, we’ll be there to guide you through to optimum health again.

Our Post Partum treatments can help you with:
Postnatal Depression
Breast Milk not flowing
Urinary difficulty and pain
